Historically, Indigenous reconciliation has been defined by misalignment, drawn out court battles and uncertain outcomes. Isthmus works to redefine this process by focusing on institutional-grade income-based investment opportunities that also offer unique Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Indigenous (I) benefits.
We believe ESG deserves to become ESG-Indigenous, or what we call ESGI. Such an approach directly achieves the goals of the Nations and supports strong capital returns, resulting in better social investing for investors and better partnerships for First Nations.
Territory Recovery
Use capital partners to directly acquire assets where recognition of Nations’ Hereditary Stake is built in from day one.
Influence Recovery
Help envision and create business partnerships with more direct involvement in major assets operations.
Capacity Building
Look for permanent ways to enable or reinforce mentorship and upskilling.
